The Review Committee (“RC”) is a sub-committee of the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia Board of Directors (“Board”) established as per section 10 of the Environmental Investment Act 13 of 2001 (“Act”). Windhoek acts on climate change

COMBATING DROUGHT ... The site of the N$130 million pilot agricultural project to enhance agricultural productivity that was launched by tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta at Warmquelle in the Kunene region on Friday. Shifeta said the project will be implemented in Warmquelle, Fransfontein and Sesfontein to help small-scale farmers find adaptive measures and strengthen their resilience to climate change, especially to drought.

Less rainfall-dependent crop schemes for Kunene

The Environmental Investment Fund intends to reduce the country's heavy reliance on rain-fed crops by utilising springs and harvesting water before evaporation for crop production.

Conservation Agriculture: Learning and Adapting Together

Namibia has been experiencing variability in rainfall over the past three agricultural seasons due to the climate change effects experienced the world over. As a result, innovative mechanisms to help small-scale crop farmers deal with climate change and to improve their resilience are needed.

Review Committee

The Environmental Investment Fund appoints a first-of-its-kind governance structure i.e. the “Review Committee” (RC) consisting of six (6) members.

Environment Ministry reinvests N$7 million into the Environmental Investment Fund

Ministry of Environment and Tourism has re-invested N$7 million of the environmental levies collected in the 2018/19 financial year into the Environment Investment Fund (EIF) for environmental protection measures.

Donation Handover

Pupkewitz Megabuild and Kaap Agri Namibia handed over a donation of N$ 60,000 to the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia this morning. The two companies collected a voluntary plastic carrier bag charge per bag as part of their Break-Free-from-Plastic campaign.
