Handover of Donated Computers to Okahitua Primary School, Okakarara

April 1, 2026 – Okahitua,Okakakarara, Otjozondjupa Region: In a significant step toward bridging the digital divide, the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) officially handed over donated used but fully functional computers to Okahitua Primary School, a rural institution established in 1981. Serving 441 learners and operating a community hostel for 270, the school previously relied on a single computer, severely limiting teaching and learning activities.

Principal Manfred Tjirare expressed deep gratitude, stating: "Without your contribution, it was so burdensome for us to operate effectively and efficiently. Today, we are fortunate our learners can finally see and touch computers, preparing them for a world where everything is done digitally. Because of this, they can conduct practical investigations, research and develop critical skills, making this a turning point in their education." EIF’s donation will now empower these young minds in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. EIF calls on other donor agencies to emulate this inspiring example, ensuring all learners have the digital access they need.
